beards, babes and bad taste…

It’s that time of year again. Time for the small slice of upper class lunacy that is the CLA gamefair. Having won tickets courtesy of the nice folks at flyforums.co.uk I decided to head up and have a meander. Luke, never one to pass up an opportunity to oogle fishing tackle joined me and off we jolly well trotted along to Ragley Hall.

I wandered round looking for examples of what makes the game fair feel like the game fair and snapped sneaky reportage pictures with the camera held nonchalantly, like rambo with a dslr, shooting from the hip. Excuse some odd angles and dicey exposure but what follows is a brief pictorial commentary of the day.

tally ho!

If fun means having your house smell of wee then yeah, I guess…

Ooooh, W’eeerrreee did ‘eee get thik ‘at? Isn’t it a natty one and just the proper style.

The lovely Martha charms her way round the fair.

Luke steals Paul Proctor’s Helios and really doesn’t want to give it back. I however couldn’t cast with the thing.

Uncle Patrick’s beard has grown back remarkably quickly

Whereas Luke suffers from beard envy on the WTT stand

The chalk-stream angler must follow a strict code of practice at all times, even when away from the river. He must keep his composure and never bow to temptation. Tackle fairs and country shows can be the downfall of many fool-hardy anglers, and great care must be taken to avoid crawling away from the afore mentioned events a dribbling mess….. and I’m not just talking about the rods….;-0

So I don’t get the ferret/fishing connection; natural bait for esox?
Met a fellow from USA-Minnesota that fishes Muskellunge with flies up to 12″ long. Look like a small ferret.
Like the recent camera work; nice!
